Clerion is a study tool students rely on to know what to work on next. If it is not usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, or magnification, it is not doing that job. This statement describes our conformance status honestly, including where we fall short, because a vague accessibility page helps nobody decide whether the product will work for them.
1. Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible. Clerion is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means most of the standard is met, and the parts that are not are listed in section 4.
2. What this covers
The Clerion web application at app.clerionai.com: the advisor, chat, courses, course detail, grades, and planner pages, plus the sign-in and school-picker screens every new user sees first.
Screens operated by other companies (the Google and WorkOS sign-in pages, and your institution’s Canvas login) are outside our control. Content your instructors write inside Canvas (assignment text, announcements, uploaded syllabi) is authored by them and passed through by us.
3. Accessibility features
Measures currently in place across the application:

| Announcements | Loading states, errors, and streaming chat replies are announced to assistive technology rather than changing silently. |
| Zoom and reflow | Text scales to 200% without loss of content. Nothing disables pinch-zoom. |
4. Known limitations
We know about the following. If one of these is blocking you, please tell us, and it moves up the list.
- No screen-reader testing yet. Our accessibility work has been verified by reading the code and by automated scanning, not by using the product with NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver. Announcement quality and reading order are therefore unproven. This is our highest priority.
- Form fields rely on placeholder text. The chat composer and a few other inputs have an accessible name but no visible label that stays put once you start typing.
- Reflow at very small widths is untested. We have not verified the layout at 320 pixels wide or at 400% zoom, and one calendar panel has a fixed width that may not reflow cleanly.
- Session and cache timing has not been evaluated against the timing-adjustable requirements.
- No third-party audit. Everything here is our own assessment.
5. How we assessed this
Self-evaluation, using three methods: a line-by-line review of the source behind each WCAG criterion; automated scanning with axe-core run against every page in our continuous-integration pipeline; and computed contrast analysis of every colour in the design system against each background it is used on.
A detailed Accessibility Conformance Report in the VPAT® 2.5Rev (Revised Section 508) format is maintained alongside the code and is available to institutions on request. It is currently a working draft and is not yet signed.
